Lilly and Eli’s House

The home of an empty-nest couple brought us an unusual design challenge. Beyond the differences between the partners who elegantly complement one another, the width of the 174 m2 (1,873 ft2) house was a mere 5 meters (16.4 feet).

This geometrical limitation triggered a comprehensive planning process, which had to take into account the spaces, the color schemes, and the combinations of materials (stone, wood, and plaster), and had to come up with particular solutions to various design details, such as railings and light fixtures, reflecting the personalities of the family members.
