HOUSES DESIGN
Yokne’am Religious Council
The Religious Council office project posed a significant planning and design challenge. On the one hand, we had to give a functional solution for every office employee in a space whose original design made no such allowances. On the other hand, we wanted to give this inherently conservative institution a new, fresh, and surprising twist.
The design was inspired by the stones of the Western Wall, so that the cladding of one wall is of stones of varying sizes. The hidden lighting and the laser-cut letters reproduce verses from Jewish texts. The design also features a dove-like Star of David, made by metal artist Israel Primo, as well as unique lighting fixture in the entranceway. Furthermore, we added a dramatic front door, re-divided and repurposed the interior spaces, and posted signage for the rooms. This project was executed together with Anya Boniak.
