ARCHITECTURE
Canada House
The Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, considered the father of twentieth century modernism in Scandinavian design and architecture, was our inspiration in planning the home of Kobi, an Israeli high-tech entrepreneur, and Rachel, his Canadian wife.
The stunning stone and wood home, located in a Toronto suburb, is where the couple and their three children spend their winter vacations. Honoring Kobi and Rachel’s request, the house was designed with a flat roof equipped with a snow-melting system rather than a shingled peaked roof more typical of this wintry, wooded landscape.
